Creating a family and turning it into an adaptive curtain wall system. Along with continued development on the Tattoo Parlor.

Versioning gives architects the ability to expand their ideas using technology that can reverse and add borrowed tactics. An architect now has the ability to take advantage of multiple disciplines because they are easily incorporated into their design. History would be a helpful discipline to incorporate because technolgy has advanced so quickly that the fundamentals of just about any older building can be improved and would help an architect to study flaws in architecture of the past and approve upon the future of buildings. "Versoning relies on the use of recombinant geometries that allow external influences to affect a system without losing precision of numerical control or the ability to translate these geometries using available construction technology. Architects can now practice on open models and focus on their work in motion rather than a flat image with physical flaws. It is accelerated and adapted so that input can be changed at anytime to reflect an improved output, this will improve the output of architecture firms worldwide and save on tedious reconstructive work. The article clarify's the meaning of versioning from believing it is used to create copies to the correct definition in which versioning is used to create a set of menus in order to reproduce a certain behavior, effect or detail of an object. Roads were used as an example because their is no set model for how every road will be, they will be moved, modified and corrected based on the best traffic pattern possible for drivers although they are all built similarly to promote the best performance possible. "The highway can be regenerated continuously to adapt to a changing manufacturing techniques yet maintains its clarity as an object-space-time construction." I felt this example was very helpful in understanding the context of versioning. I think versioning will be able  to alter the distinction between the aesthetic object and the theoretical text. The process just needs to be redefined and developed to include better techniques of fabrication and ways to change its properties.

Canstruction, hot air balloon constructed out of Campbell Tomato soup cans.

Building Information modeling improved the planning, estimating and phasing of the construction of buildings, redefining the scope and scale of professional services. It re prioritized the ways of thinking of general contractors and architects because it made it possible to make easy corrections and to access the building from every angle prior to it ever being built, giving them information on heating/cooling, organization and possible flaws. BIM allows for visualization of the project from every aspect such as the landscape, materials, structure and organization. Documentation is much easier and more organized with multiple layers, views and calculations can be taken directly from the software.  The coordination of space is easily seen with BIM and objects can be multiplied and deleted with ease allowing architects the ability to interchange the space. My technique in BIM is still slow compared to other software editing but as I have gone along with each project I have gained more and more knowledge allowing me to surpass what I once could do before into more difficult levels of modeling. My comprehension of phases of practice and appropriate levels of documentation has changed I have gained a better understanding of how to plan out my project and how to document the various components, previously I spent less time on documentation, BIM makes it easier.  I think the legal liabilities are not much of a concern because BIM has advanced into allowing architects to access precise calculations preventing mistakes or budget imbalances. The only liability would be that BIM allows you to more easily duplicate a project or work, which could lead to copyright problems. Ethically some architects have been unable to accept that BIM is the new process of architecture, some still believe drafting is the key to releasing an architect’s inner creativity. They don’t understand that BIM allows architects more easily to predict the performance of projects before they are built. They can then change and optimize the simulations so that they can deliver the highest quality project without ever picking up an eraser. Problem solving and creative thinking are improved because each idea can be tested and when a problem arises, the calculations can be reset easily or adjusted. My knowledge of BIM will further my professional education because it allows me to connect all the processes of a project easily and in a professional manner.

The  Prelude of the article discusses the changes in visual representation and highlights the potential for it to change the architectural conception. I believe the ability to create computer graphics in such a meticulous manner while changing perspectives and materials has already given architecture a great boost. As a student architect, I find it much easier to present my work with the added benefits to the architectural process,"The process of creation prevalent in architecture today assumes that a conventional set of projections, at various scales from site to detail, adds up to a complete, objective idea of a building." The ability to represent the building in a detailed manner and various views helps me to see flaws and possibilities  giving me complete control of my working drawing. My favorite part of the article was "The architectural Meaning and the Tools of the Architect. This section focuses on the assumption that the completed work is a direct reflection of the architects will. The work is always going to reflect cultural association and context of what the building is for, so as the article states, "Nevertheless, the architect cannot abdicate personal responsibility." New possibilities available to architects because of the improved graphics and computer programming will allow architects to create a better building of every kind. There will always be room for improvement and possibilities when you can make adjustments with such ease. As an student architect, I always see ways to tweak or drastically improved finished works but the biggest problem we face usually holds us back, the budget. The example of the renaissance writers on their perspective architecture does make me wonder  how we can incorporate traditional optics with artificial construction to come out with a more whole outcome that has been thoroughly examined from all angles, flat and three-dimensional. I also found it interesting that in the Renaissance period they questioned how we perceive objects with our eyes, saying that our visual cone was set to perceive only a few ways until Leonardo questioned it.
